New rules came into effect at 4am today, October 4th. The green and ambers lists have gone, now only a red list of countries which still require approved hotel quarantine.

Fully vaccinated arrivals from non red countries no longer need to do a pre flight test before arriving into the UK. This also applies to anyone under the age of 18 whether vaccinated or not. Fully vaccinated is two doses of an approved vaccine plus 14 days since the llast dose. All travellers - except children under five years old - still have to book and pay for a PCR test two days after arrival.

Not fully vaccinated arrivals from non red countries and aged 18 or over you still need to take a PCR or lateral flow/antigen test within three days before returning to the UK. You also need to take a test on day two and day eight after your return. You must also self-isolate at home for 10 days after arrival in the UK. Test to Release will remain an option for unvaccinated passengers to England who want to shorten quarantine.

All arrivals will still need to fill in a passenger locator form ahead of travel.

Many countries have been removed from the red list.
